Wow - don't know why the last post didn't likt it. Rumore Del Mare Free Download. I've owned the Triton, and I have the latest Fantom as well. I now have 4 of Eastwest's sound sample libraries.
They blow away anything a stand alone keyboard sampler can do - unless you are going for an Open Lab workstation, none of the keyboards have the memory capacity to hold every nuance of every note of every instrument. Eastwest captures EVERYTHING, hence the huge space they take on your hard drive.
Only thing is - make sure you have a processor that can handle it, at least a quad core. A solid state drive will be my next investment, as loading of samples can take a bit, especially if you are running a complete symphony orchestra. But, it's well worth the wait, as nothing comes closer to the realism, and believe me - I'm a stickler for realism. I usually have liked Korg products for horns, Rolands for strings and such, and Yamaha's pianos, but Eastwest blows them all away.and yes, I represented all three products professionally in my career.
I've never represented Eastwest, but would welcome the opportunity to do so in the future - GREAT products. First off, the selection and quality of sounds is incredible. I've found nothing else that can compare. Of course, there's the trade off in terms of computer performance. You pay for that quality in hard drive space and CPU hits, especially if the reverb is on (the reverbs, and there are many, are incredible.
Easily the best I've heard.). But, no pain no gain. These are professional sounds, all the way. So, get Goliath and start making some great music. It's very inspiring to use, and it's a lot of fun to hear the music in your head come out of the speakers exactly as you imagined it.My only problem is that the VST plugin is slightly buggy in Reaper. It works, but it can be a hassle. Also, there are some instruments that don't load correctly.
Very few, but they are there. Unfortunately for me one of those instruments was a Fender Rhodes I've been wanting to try. I haven't yet talked to Eastwest customer support, so I can't comment on that. Anyway, overall, I think Goliath is excellent. The samples in this collection are huge sounding. Drum type things, booming type things, lots of large sounding samples designed to make a big impact.
The problem with these programs is that they require a massive computer to run them. The required hardware on this one is 2 Gigs of ram and a Dual Core processor. But these sounds are only really good if you use them with other sounds, like Symphonic Orchestra. That program is even larger. Which can mean that in order to run them together you may require two or more computers running in tandum.
There are other programs, such as Steinberg Symphonic Orchestra or IK Miroslav Orchestra and Choir that don't have as big a sound, but will run comfortably with far less memory. I own both of those, and I prefer them to EastWest.
