Im using OS: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (OEM) and I have a Dell Dimension DM051 Intel(R), Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHZ, 2.99GHZ, 1.50 GB of RAM. Graphics Card - Radeon X300 SE 128MB HyperMemory & Radeon X300 SE 128MB HyperMemory Secondary I downloaded the new driver from (ATI Catalyst 8.11 Display Driver for Windows XP) I then went to 'Add/Remove Programs' to uninstall the previous ATI software and drivers, including the ATI Software Unistall Utility which froze the screen and needed a reboot. After rebooting went to Device Manager and also unistalled both Radeon drivers in the 'display adaptors' section. Rebooted again. I've been downloading and trying to install various ATI driver updates, right back to the Catalyst 7.11, from AMD's Support Website and not one of them will install. This is the error message i have been getting:- 'Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system.
Setup will now exit.' From looking at various other threads i have been trying anything i could, except using a driver cleaner program - heard they can occasionally do more damage. I have tried to install the driver in SAFE mode (no luck), unistalled all.NET Framework entries from Add/Remove programs (no luck, have installed.NET Framework 2.0 again) and other stuff such as Mobility Modder and a chipset download but again nothing will install. Now everytime i reboot windows tries to install Video Controller (VGA Compatible) but keeps throwing up this error message:- 'Cannot Install This Hardware - Video controller (VGA Compatible) and error occured during installation of this device.
